NBC buys 1980s wrestling drama

NBC has purchased a wrestling drama set in the 1980s from the Jerry Bruckheimer. Yes, the very same Jerry Bruckheimer who created all those mediocre TV shows that rerun in a constant loop on cable.

I know what you're thinking. Fictionalizing wrestling? How could it be done? But never fear, for The Rock himself will be bringing it - whatever "it" is - to the show as an executive producer.

Whether the one-hour show will cover the dramatized lives of real Superstars, or delve completely into the world of make believe has yet to be revealed. Writers and co-executive producers are to include Brent Fletcher and Kevin Fahey, both of the great Spartucus: Gods of the Arena (which I'm sure you've all watched like 100 times, OMG).

Zack Ryder brags about selling t-shirts *UPDATED*

Zack Ryder, lord of all things Internet in the WWE Universe (according to... himself), announced to his many broskis on Twitter that he sold more t-shirts than The Rock during last night's RAW in Indianapolis.

Of course, threatening to deprive your loyal fans of their broski-ness if they fail to shell out for the latest merchandise probably doesn't hurt.

No word yet on how The Rock is dealing with the crushing blow of being outsold at an event by a guy actually, you know, performing at that event. So far, Twitter has only revealed that The Rock enjoys black tea before a workout. I'm sure that and his superior eyebrow lifting abilities are currently his only sources of comfort.

UPDATE

Finally, The Rock has... responded to Zack Ryder's tweet brags. While most of the tweet professes The Rock's heartfelt congratulations, you can't help but notice that he asserts himself as a badass motherstars there at the end. Plus, I think the tag #TheMotherf is likely to catch on like wild fire. Or maybe not.
